Glue is a very essential component in archery. Without glue, it would be impossible to install inserts or fletchings. Because glue is so important, you would want to buy the right king to ensure that you set up your bow right. So in this article, we will look at the best archery glue and some critical things to consider when buying archery glue.
Here is the short answer:
Most super glues will work for archery but they are not the best. You are better off buying designated archery glue. Or better yet, you could use epoxy, which is the best archery glue.
Now that we have looked at the short answer, we can look more in-depth at archery glue like what makes some archery glue good, why some glues are bad, why some are good, and the best overall archery glue.
The best archery glues
Here are the best archery glues from what I have tested over the years
Easton archery adhesive
This glue is strong, dries quickly, and is sure to hold anything you need in place. It is an inexpensive glue that drys in only 30 minutes so you won’t have to waste time waiting for your glue to dry. If you want a good all-around archery glue you should check this one out.

Locktite 5 minute epoxy
Epoxy is probably the strongest glue you can use which is why it is my favorite type of glue to use for inserts. 5-minute epoxy is even better because it drys quickly, holds strong, and doesn’t cost much. If you are looking to not ever have to worry about your fletchings or insert coming loose then you should check this glue out.

What makes an archery glue good
Archery glue can make or break your arrow setup, so you need to know what is most valuable to keep your setup running smoothly.
The best quality you could have in an archery glue is strength. You need to be able to shoot your arrow over and over again, and your fletching can stay on your arrow and your insert in place. If you have glue that does not hold then your arrow will fall apart leading to you having to reglue your fletchings or inserts. This constant regluing and breaking will waste time and money.
A less important, but still valuable, quality in glue is its ability to dry fast. While it is not as important as strength, you still need to be able to have your glue dry fast so that you don’t waste time. If your glue doesn’t dry fast you might end up with your fletching falling off or your insert coming out when you shoot because you didn’t wait long enough further delaying your archery time.
Why some types of glue are bad
Now that we know what the best qualities of archery glue we can eliminate some types of glue.
Glues like foaming glues, shoe glues, wood glue, or most hot glue are not adequate for archery. These glues lack the strength needed to be able to hold your fletchings or insert in place. Often it will take less than 250 shots before you lose your insert or you get felching separation.
Conclusion
When you buy archery glue you will want it to be solid and dry quickly as that will lead to the best results. To achieve this it is best to buy epoxy or designated archery glue.
