Blackout arrows are becoming increasingly popular since Cables and Bass pro shops have released them. They appeal to people who want a quality arrow but don’t want to spend lots of money. But just how good are they? Are they worth the money? And how do they compare to other arrow companies? Let’s find out.

How good are Blackout arrows

I have been testing Blackout arrows for a long time and have even taken many different kinds of game animals with them, here is what I have found.

Blackout arrows are high performing for the price. For only 70 dollars, you can get a dozen Blackout X5 Envy arrows that will work great for almost anything. They tune great, they fly straight, and they are very durable.

Last year I was able to harvest an elk with my bow while using Blackout X5 Envy arrows. They proved to be very durable and made a human kill. My arrow hit the shoulder blade and a rib and only broke when the elk ran away.

Overall I am very pleased with the blackout arrows. They are durable, they fly straight, and they are great at killing animals.

How does Blackout compare to other brands?

Now that we know my experience with Blackout, we can look at how Blackout compares to other arrow companies such as Easton or Carbon Express.

Blackout vs. Easton

From my experience, when I compared the Blackout X3 Hunter to Easton Zenith arrows (both arrows are in the same price range), I found that Blackout did better. Blackout tuned better, flew straighter, and was more durable. I would choose Blackout over Easton any day of the week.

Blackout vs. Carbon Express

After comparing the Blackout X3 Hunter arrows to the Carbon Express Pile Driver arrows, I found them to be very similar. They have the same straightness tolerance, durability, and tune about the same. If you had to give the edge to one company it would be Blackout because their arrows come in at a lower price.

Blackout vs. Black Eagle

When you compare the Blackout X3 Hunter to the Black Eagle Outlaw, you will find that the Outlaw has a 0.005 straightness tolerance, while the Blackout X3 has a 0.003 straightness tolerance. This means that blackout arrows are straighter and in turn, will tune better.

Blackout vs. Victory

When you compare the Victory VForce Gamer V3 to the Blackout X3 Hunter, you will find they are about the same. Both arrows have the same specs and performance, so it comes down to personal preference nevertheless, I would go with the X3 Hunter because they are about 30 dollars cheaper per dozen.

Overall, when you camper blackout arrows to other arrows from different companies, you will find they are on par or a little better than them.

Who makes Blackout arrows?

One thing that is important to note is that Bass Pro doesn’t make its arrows and Blackout arrows are made by a separate company, Bass Pro and Cabelas just market them. The maker of Blackout arrows is Gold Tip. You can tell because if you look at Blackout arrows you will see that they use the same nock as Gold Tip therefore Gold Tip makes them.

Are Blackout arrows worth it?

Yes, Blackout arrows are worth it. They perform just as well are any other arrow in their price range so there is no reason you shouldn’t buy them.
