So let’s say you don’t have 1000 dollars to go buy a rifle, camo, and a tree sand and some climbing sticks. No problem. you can get plenty of gear and be able to hunt in just a few weeks.
Get you hunter safety card
Look up your state name then put in fish and game. For instance if i lived in Colorado than i would put Colorado fish and game. Once you find your states official sight find hunter safety. Read the rules on hunter safety and take a class. Remember most hunters safety classes are before fall.
Now that you have your hunter safety card find rules and regulations. Read all the rules for your state. Now your can get a tag and license.
Get a rifle
The first thing you want is a rifle because rifles are cheaper than bows. You want an old Mauser or other world war gun. A Mosin Nagant or a Swedish 6.5×55 are the cheapest. A good deal would be about 200-300 dollars. The best option is to go to a Cabalas and ask for there cheapest deer gun.
Get ammo
Next look for ammo. You can go online and buy some ammo which is easiest. you can also go to a store and buy some ammo.
Shoot the gun
Plan trips to the local shooting range and go shoot. Get to be good with the gun and make sure you are confident in the gun. Get the gun sighted in. To get the gun sighted in you want to move the sights tell you hit where you are aiming. make sure you can hit a diner plate sized target at 50 yards.
Get camo.
Next go to your local Cabalas or Bass pro and get some inexpensive camo clothing. Remember most rifle seasons are in November or December so get the right clothes.
Find a place to hunt.
Go on your state’s Fish and Game website and find public hunting land near you. Go there and look for sign of deer. Look for tracks, scat, or other signs that deer have been using the area. You want to find a spot with a lot of tracks. Once you find a good spot pick out a spot to sit down.
To find a good spot to sit down follow these steps. Look where a good size tree that you can lean on that is 50 yards from where you think the deer will be. Sit down in front of it and get the ground ready to set up on. Make a note of where it is you will want to go back there on opening day.
Go hunt.
Finally you get to hunt. Go to your hunting spot and sit down a good 50 yards from where you think the deer will be. Make sure the wind is in your face so they don’t smell you. Now just sit in the mornings and evenings tell you get a deer.
I got one now what? Next take it to a butcher or cut it up yourself. There are plenty of YouTube videos of how to butcher a deer. Look up how to clean a deer on YouTube. Take it slow you don’t want to cut the meat wrong.
Hunting is very addictive and fun. You learn a lot about deer and other animals in nature.
